Eli's New Play Set...

Well, I realize it's been a long time since I posted! (again) We've been busy making memories and it's keeping me too busy to post! Ha Ha Ha... I decided to not try to 'catch up' cause I think that'll just take too long, so we're gonna start from now and try to blog @ least once a week. : )

We bought Eli a play set a couple weeks ago! Wow what an adventure that was putting it together! Thankfully Matt and I work really well together doing stuff like that.

He LOVES it!

Not too many pics of it BEING assembled cause I was 'helping'.

Here it is... The best purchase we've made in a long time!

And the construction crew!!!!!

Yup! We're alive...

Well hello blog followers... I've been asked by a few different people when I'm gonna post.
So, here goes...
January and February were pretty slow months in the Austin house. It's been cold and rainy so we've been having a lot of 'family movie nights' which are a blast! Movie, popcorn, Matt, Eli, and me all piled in our bed.

Eli is getting SO big! He is now wearing 5T clothes and a size 11 shoe! INSANE!! He talks all the time which is so cute! I can't believe how much he's changed this past few months. He is however, NOT interested in potty training. Ha Ha Ha

Last month our van bit the dust! I mean BAM broke! After 2 mechanics looked at it
and we prayed about what to do, we decided it wasn't worth the $3000 it was going to cost to fix. So, we decided to sell it for parts or something. We then started the dreaded car hunt... Matt decided pretty quickly what he wanted, but I was on the fence and since this was going to be my car I wanted to make sure it was something I really liked. Well, after driving one at a dealership here in Owasso I fell in love with the Ford 500 (it's a 4 door sedan). There is so much room for Eli and IF God blesses us w/another child there's plenty of room for him/her too. And the trunk if GIGANTIC for anything a kid or 2 can require. Anyway, the one we looked at in Owasso was way over-priced. We found one online in Tulsa. Went and looked at it, drove it, made a deal on it, then decided we really wanted leather so we said never mind, well the dealership then told us they'd put leather in it for us (after some bartering on Matt's part the price we agreed on didn't change w/the leather). The best blessing in this whole thing is that we almost had enough cash in our car savings account to pay for it outright. But when you aren't planning on buying a car you kinda put that car account on hold... anyway, we only had to borrow a little money from our bank so that'll be paid off year. Anyway, we LOVE it!!!!! God truly blessed us.

Matt and I went to San Antonio for a few days a week ago and we didn't take Eli! I know I know I know, you can't believe I left Eli!!! I wasn't really sure if I could do it to be honest, but I did good. I knew Eli would be just fine at his grandparents' house. We had a blast, it did rain the whole time we were there, but we made the best of it. We even went to Sea World! So fun!! I hope we can take Eli this Summer. I'll post some pics. soon, probably tomorrow! It was so nice to be w/my hubby.

Well, guess that about sums up the past few months!

I'll try to do a better job posting!

Just want to say...

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We have an AMAZING God who loves us SO much. This time of year it's so easy to get wrapped up in 'stuff' and being busy. I pray that each one of my family & friends feel the prayers we send your way. I'm reminded lately that God wants the best for us, even when we're going through something that makes no sense to us, He knows what He's doing. Whatever that something may be for you, remember that God is in control, He is a loving, caring, awesome God. His plans for each one of us are by far better than our plans for ourselves. I'm sure everyone has heard this but I think it's very true. "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him YOUR plan". I've battled so much health wise lately & yet I still feel @ peace. I know that God promises He will give us the desires of our hearts if we delight ourselves in Him. I have so much to be thankful for. I want to just say thank you to ALL my family & friends.

My prayer for you ALL & for us here in the Austin house is that 2009 brings us the desires of our hearts, if our hearts are not delighted in our Lord then I pray we change that. I pray that 2009 brings health to the ailing, healing to the hurting, closeness to the alienated, friendship to the lonely, and most of all I pray that 2009 brings Christ to the lost.

May your 2009 be wonderful.

Too funny/sad to not share...

Okay there is L O N G story that accompanies this picture. I'll share it w/ya just gimme a call cause it's sure a long story!

Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree

I realize I have not posted in a LONG time... Here is just a short little post. It's the day after Thanksgiving Matt, Eli, Matt's brother Jeff, & I went to the Owasso Christmas Tree Farm to cut down our tree! It was cold, but a really pretty day to be out. We found the tree pretty quickly while Eli chased Uncle Jeff in & outa the maze of trees!

Once we got the tree in the van Eli was totally confused! He kept saying "tree outside, not inside". He was technically right, trees go outside NOT inside & esp. not inside the van! Funny boy!

And our tree!!!!! (Which is being taken down today) Ha Ha Ha...

We're alive...

Just a quick post to say yes Matt, Eli, and I are all alive. They are doing great, me on the other hand... I'm on new medicine and it's terrible! I have NO energy, I'm nauseous, and just plain exhausted! Any prayers would be wonderful. I'll be on this medicine for 6 months (I've got 1 month down) my Dr. says I'll probably feel like this the whole time. Yippee!!! All for the sake of letting my body heal. I'm trying to keep the faith that it'll all be worth it in the end. : )

Sorry for not being a part of the blogger world lately. I'll come back soon (I hope!).

A beautiful song...

This is one of my all time favorite praise songs. I'm reminded that God is in in control of everything and that includes our great country. I am being totally honest w/my friends and family on this blog, I was not happy w/the election results, but I can say that I'm at peace because God promises He will never leave us or forsake us. He is God of this city and this country! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

(Jennifer asked me to post this song so here ya go...)

You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation
You Are

For there is no one like our God
There is no one like our God

Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here

You're the Lord of Creation
The Creator of all things
You're the King above all Kings
You Are

You're the strength in our weakness
You're the love to the broken
You're the joy in the sadness
You Are

Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Where glory shines from hearts alive
With praise for you and love for you
In this city

Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here
